Led and organized by the China Packaging Research and Testing Center, proposed and centralized by the China Packaging Federation, with the China Packaging Research and Testing Center and Hunan Ruimeng New Materials Co., Ltd. as the main drafting units, the group standard of “Carbon Fiber Packaging Boxes” (T/CPF 0094-2025) was officially released and implemented on February 11, 2025.

Standard overview

This document specifies the structure, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of carbon fiber packing boxes, which is applicable to the design, production and inspection of carbon fiber packing boxes.

Background and significance

Traditional packing boxes, especially military packing boxes, are made of steel or wood. However, the steel packing box is heavy, and the wooden packing box has problems such as low strength and poor sealing. In recent years, rotoplastic packing boxes have gradually replaced traditional steel and wooden boxes, but rotoplastic boxes still have defects such as aging, high temperature deformation, low temperature brittleness and heavy quality. In contrast, the box made of carbon fiber material has the advantages of light weight, high strength, good sealing performance, and more than 30% weight reduction than the rotonized box, which can better meet the storage and transportation needs. In addition, the carbon fiber box environment adaptability is strong, a wide range of applications, suitable for instrument boxes, radar boxes, transport boxes and other scenarios.

The formulation of the group standard “Carbon fiber Packing Box” not only standardizes the manufacturing and testing process of carbon fiber packing box, but also improves the standardization level of products and promotes the application and development of packaging products in the field of military-civilian integration.
